I'm glad to announce that on february 19th radiohead will release new album called ''The King Of Limbs''. Radiohead’s eighth studio record will be released via digital download direct through www.radiohead.com. .wav and .mp3 formats. Mp3 versions will cost £6 while the lossless format is £9. The band has also announced that a deluxe, “Newspaper” version of the album is available for pre-order, with a scheduled release on May 9th 2011.
According to the website, this version comprises:
Two clear 10" vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
A compact disc
Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together
A digital download version of the album
The deluxe edition costs £30 with .mp3 and £33 with .wav. Anybody who purchases a download version of the album will also be entered into a draw for a limited edition signed version of the record.
Radiohead’s 2007 release In Rainbows was released via the band’s website through “a pay what you like” scheme, as well as a deluxe double vinyl format.
That record marked the first time that Radiohead had put out an album outside of a record label framework.
A track listing for the album has yet to be released.
